Anthony J. Bucci, Jr., has been a practicing attorney for over 25 years. Prior to becoming of counsel to Boisseau & Dean LLP in September 2004, Mr. Bucci was of counsel to the real estate, corporate and technology groups at Adler Pollock & Sheehan PC. Prior to joining Adler, Mr. Bucci was a principal in the law firm of Tillinghast Licht & Semonoff Ltd. where he was chairperson of its Real Estate Law Group. He was also active in Tillinghast's Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Groups. Mr. Bucci regularly represents clients in complex real estate matters. He often acts as lender's counsel in real estate closings for major Rhode Island banks, as well as many in-state and out-of-state mortgage companies. Mr. Bucci counsels clients in connection with the acquisition, financing, and leasing of shopping centers and other commercial real estate, and the development of both residential and commercial condominiums. In addition, Mr. Bucci is regularly involved in the negotiation and drafting of construction contracting agreements. As lead counsel to the Narragansett Bay Water Quality Management District Commission (NBC), Mr. Bucci has been responsible for all real estate matters since 1990. In addition, Mr. Bucci has represented NBC in administrative proceedings before the Rhode Island Public Utility Commission. He frequently handles matters involving condemning property for temporary and permanent sewer easements and condemnations in fee simple. In the area of corporate law, Mr. Bucci drafts acquisition agreements, structures and negotiates financing terms and conducts due diligence investigations. He reviews incorporation papers; stock acquisition agreements; asset purchase agreements; limited liability company operating agreements and other corporate documents. He often advises business clients about issues of intellectual property that arise in the normal course of business contracts and related agreements. In addition, he was a featured speaker at the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce Business Expo where he discussed the legal concerns in establishing an Internet presence and transacting e-commerce. He also represented the Rhode Island Board of Elections from 1983 to 1995 and, in that capacity, has practiced before the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, the Federal District Court of Rhode Island and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Mr. Bucci assisted in the successful representation of a national natural gas company before the Rhode Island Division of Taxation, which resulted in the client receiving a refund in excess of $200,000. Mr. Bucci received his undergraduate degree in 1978 from Providence College, and graduated, cum laude, in 1981 from Suffolk University Law School. While in law school, he received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellent achievement in the study of professional responsibility. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Mr. Bucci has acted as an arbitrator for court-annexed arbitration in the Rhode Island Superior Court since its inception in 1989. With more than 22 years of experience with databases, spreadsheets, and other financial computer-based documents, Mr. Bucci has an extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software. He has written many utility programs for computers, one of which was published in PC Magazine. In addition, he automated his former employer's residential closing department. Finally, Mr. Bucci was instrumental in the creation, design and development of his former employer's website. Active in the community, Mr. Bucci has been president and a director of the Rhode Island chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Mr. Bucci is currently a director and Vice-Chair of the Rhode Island chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Rhode Island Supreme Court licenses all lawyers in the general practice of law. The Court does not license or certify any lawyer as an expert or specialist in any field of practice.
